Mrs. Catherine Thomas » Welcome

Welcome

WELCOME!

Hi!!  My name is Catherine Thomas and this will be my 34th year of teaching at Dabbs Elementary. I have taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 5th grade and I am now one of the Reading Recovery teachers here at Dabbs. I believe in building strong relationships with my students and creating a safe environment where students feel welcome, comfortable and loved.

I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. I am a Deer Park girl through and through.  I attended San Jacinto Elementary School, Deer Park Junior High and graduated from Deer Park High School.   I am married to my amazing husband, Keith Thomas, who is also a Deer Park graduate. We have two amazing children who were blessed to graduate from Deer Park as well. My son Christopher graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Math and Business Management.  He is married to a wonderful young lady named Bailee, who Keith and I our honored to call our daughter.  Christopher works at National Oilwell Varco as a QA Specialist/Industrial Engineer.  Bailee works at NASA and is a Flight Controller for the Space Station.     My daughter Kayleigh graduated from Texas A&M this past May with a degree in Meteorology and Communications. She is currently working as the weekend meteorologist for KTAB in Abilene, Texas.  Her goal is to replace Al Roker on the Today Show as their meteorologist.

Parent communication is extremely important so please contact me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year. The best way to contact me is through Class DoJo or email.  My email is catherinet@dpisd.org.  My conference time is 1:30-2:30.

We are a team and want the best for your child so let's work together to make this a wonderful, successful year!
