Hello and welcome to my page! My name is Melody Anderson and I am an Academic Interventionist for grades 2nd-5th here at Dabbs. Teaching is my passion and I look forward to working with your child this year on his or her reading! It's going to be a great year full of fun as we explore a variety of books while focusing on decoding words, comprehension skills, analyzing text, and writing about reading. My goal for each student is that they will develop a love for reading and realize that reading can open up so many opportunities in their lives. I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us! I thought you might enjoy learning a little about myself.
I grew up in this area and graduated from Deer Park High School in 1999...GO Deer! After high school I attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville (eat 'em up Kats) where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Academic Studies. This is my 15th year teaching and my love for teaching continues to grow each year. At Dabbs Elementary I am involved in Teaching Growth Mindset lessons and Genius Hour where I get to inspire students who want to be teachers when they grow up.
Some of my favorite things include:
~Spending time with my family. I have been married to my husband, Aaron for 10 years and we have a little boy named Jaxson who is going into 2nd grade.
~Sports ( Astros, Texans and DP Little League Baseball :)
